A poem by Raea Adams

In a world hope has forsaken

The holy mock their gods once sought
Our protectors pay a low price for lives taken.
We live in a world where souls are bought.

Children cut their wrists then are shamed for faking
In prison peaceful stoners rot.
It’s time to kill off this hate we are creating
Succumb to the smiling happiness we forgot.

We can shine like the stars in a Van Gough painting.
Stand hand in hand like many lessons taught
The noise of hate is fading
Let our hearts feel love burning hot.

We are unity stripes in the making;

A world of peace and love we are creating.
